Boris Alexander started buying studio gear back in 1996. Only two years later he had his first record release on a German club label.
After a couple of releases on labels like Compressed, SOK, GAMB, Intensiv and Shokoy he started producing together with his school mate Tom Wax, his new studio and production partner. Together they work at Toms Phuture Wax Soundlab and releases on labels like Big & Dirty, High Contrast, Klang Gymnastik, Harthouse or Frisbee Tracks are the results of this dynamic collaboration.
In 2007 Tom & Boris received the special honor of performing Dvorak’s 9th symphony together with the symphonic orchestra of the “Hessicher Rundfunk” under star conductor Parvo Järvi live and to a sold out house, underlaying the classical composition with electronic beats, and creating a once-in-a-lifetime experience for those present, resulting in frenetic applause and praise from their audience.
2008 marked the launch of the new „Pretty Girls Don’t Dance“ label, again together with Tom Wax. That year also marked the release of their two albums „Nightflight Entertainment“ and „Do Pretty Girls Dance?“, both showcases for their musical creativity.
Boris DJ career started back in 2002 with the success of his music productions. Meanwhile he had bookings at the Streetparade in Zurich, Nature One and Osvalds Festival (Latvia). Furthermore he played at the Ubar in Frankfurt (U 60311), at the Airport in Wuerzburg, 50 Grad Mainz and Sven Vaeth's Cocoon Club in Frankfurt. He was guest at the radio shows YOUFM Sounds & Clubnight and Sunshine Live Mixmission.
Boris is working also as an editor for Music Magazines and has written a book about “Digital-DJing”. The book contains various information about digital DJ-Gear and Workshops how to use it. Additionally you can find interviews with Chris Liebing and John Acquaviva which are popular promoters of that topic. The book is already available in all bookshops and will be translated into English later this year.

It’s about as hot off the mixing desk as they come; the new Thrillseekers floor-juggernaut has been primed throughout October and is now about to start consuming whole floors at one sitting! Steve premiered his elegy to the US West Coast clubbing scene at London’s Ministry Of Sound last Friday. And on the very same night Above & Beyond made it their ‘Record of the Week’ on Trance Around The World. With remixes now in full-flight (watch this space for details!) a pre-Christmas release is on the cards.
